XBOX 360 Ad in India

Our India marketing team, led by Ashim Dass Mathur, worked with MTV India to produce a new TV ad for the Xbox 360.  Tony and I watched it today, and had to think about it for a few minutes.  I wonder if the people of India did the same when they saw "Jump Rope"... MTV India describes the ad this way:
'Porok' is a sport played in certain parts of rural India. It is weird and wonderful because one has to adopt the stance of a fighter cock and head butt the opponent out of the circle. So we took this sport and blew it out of proportion to denote the power of gaming. Our village was constructed bang in the middle of Bombay, because we love this great city of ours and besides, there was no budget to go out. So if you notice a parked car or an electric cable, keep it to yourself. The spoken tongue in the spot is absolute gibberish. We mixed most of the Indian languages up to get people guessing as to what the language was. The last line actually means "Porok afternoon cock horn, eunuch inside big bangle insect."

Are the Hackers hurrying to crack Xbox 360

SAN DIEGO – Video-game fans braved long lines last fall to be among the first to buy Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 player. Andrew Huang got one so he could be among the first to tear it apart. The remains of Huang’s Xbox 360 are now a tangle of wires and parts on a workbench in his home office. He has spent six months dissecting the box, studying many parts under a microscope and probing the deepest nooks of its software. “This box is too interesting to ignore,” he says. Read full article

Xbox 360 to get 65 nm processor in 2007

Microsoft has seemingly reached an agreement with Chartered Semiconductor to provision the Xbox 360 with a 65 nm processor in 2007. This will provide the console with a more powerful and less power-hungry processor. Tech specs for the chip have yet to be announced, but it should be based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. Xbox 360 - Worth the hype?

Is it worth all the hype? I recently purchased one of these consoles after so many good reviews and I am yet to be disappointed. They say the simplest things please the simplest of people but the wireless controller is superb! No more tangling or lifting the controller when somebody walks infront of the TV!

X360 hack is useless - says a well known hacker

Microsoft has greeted reports of a hack to run pirated Xbox 360 games by claiming that the "core security system" is intact - and, unusually, the hackers themselves seem to be in agreement. Last week, hackers said they had fooled an Xbox 360 into running a copied version of Project Gotham Racing 3 by modifying the DVD drive firmware, which was apparently left relatively unprotected, so that it sidestepped an authentication routine. Video footage of the game booting seemed to confirm this. Read full story

In an online interview, Microsoft’s Scott Henson has claimed that the company is considering possibly improvements to the Xbox 360 software. Henson, who is director of Microsoft’s Game Technology Group, refused to name specifics, but mentioned that the improvements are likely to be based on customer response. Top user requests include upgrades to the music player and support for streaming movie and music playback from all PCs, rather than just those running Microsoft’s Windows Media Centre software. Impossible to Hack an Xbox 360? Who says that?

Sources say that a group calling themselves Team Pi have discovered a vulnerability in the Xbox 360, or more specifically in the kiosk CD being used in retailers displays. It seems that though the executable on the disk is signed, the other media on the disk is not signed allowing someone to swap the Project Gotham Racing 3 demo video with a WMV-HD rip of a full length movie.
